BIOPEP-15

This plant-derived oligopeptide technology is designed to combat acne by targeting and reducing the growth of Cutibacterium acnes bacteria, thereby preventing future breakouts without the need for antibiotics. This innovative solution operates through a unique mechanism of action:

Recognising and binding with Lipoteichoic Acid (LTA) found on the cell membranes of Gram+ bacteria, BIOPEP-15 disrupts the membrane, inducing osmotic imbalance and ultimately leading to bacterial cell death.

Unlike some treatments, BIOPEP-15 selectively targets bacteria without affecting other skin cells, ensuring it is non-cytotoxic and non-irritating.

Moreover, BIOPEP-15 has the added benefit of binding to the antigen molecules of free LTA, effectively halting the development of an inflammatory response
